He originally wanted to be a baseball player, but after attending a revival meeting at age 16, his life changed. He has since addressed crowds around the world and is unprecedented in having had friendships with U.S. Presidents Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton and Bush. His name is Billy Graham, and he was born this day, November 7, 1918.  He is the most famous evangelist of the 20th century and he has continued to preach to millions on into the new millennium.  Upon receiving the Congressional Gold Medal in 1996, Billy Graham stated:

Quote:
"As we face a new millennium, I believe America has gone a long way down the wrong road.  We must turn around...If ever we needed God's help, it is now."

- Billy Graham

Quote:
People from every corner of the globe look across the seas and envy America.  They want what we have, but fail to understand what produced it -- even homegrown Americans fail to understand what has given them such privilege.  They want the fruits of the Gospel of Jesus Christ while, at the same time, hating its principles and practicing the religion that produced poverty and bondage in the land from which they fled. But it is these things that are protected and advocated, while biblical Christianity and the tranquility, justice and morality that it produces are under attack from within and without.  The fruit cannot long remain when the root is destroyed. The benefits of the Gospel that our forefathers advocated cannot long be enjoyed if the foundations are abolished.

Sir Isaac Newton (1643-1727 A.D.) was an English mathematician, physicist and philosopher.  He is regarded by many as one of the most brilliant minds of all time.  He is credited for discovering and articulating the Law of Gravity and the Laws of Motion.  He is also famous for his research on optics.  Newton also had a spiritual side.  If he were alive today, as a scientist, he would be a creationist for he believed The Bible and accepted its account of creation.  His later writings on science expressed his belief in the Providence of God which he observed in nature.  Of The Bible, Newton stated, "I have a fundamental belief in the Bible as the Word of God, written by those who were inspired. I study the Bible daily."  Newton also wrote a book on Bible prophecy and said this:

Quote:
“About the time of the end, a body of men will be raised up who will turn their attention to the prophecies of the Bible and insist on their literal interpretation in the midst of much clamor and opposition.”

- Sir Isaac Newton

Quote:
The Founding Fathers knew that Isaiah 33:22 said, "For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our Lawgiver, the Lord is our king." So here we see the tripartite division of government — as judge, lawgiver, and king. Those are the judiciary, the legislative and the executive branches of government...thus we have this three-part division of our government.

— Dr. D. James Kennedy, in his sermon "The Bible and the Constitution"
